FREE GUIDE - 7 Tips to be a more effective leader
If becoming a great leader is something you truly want to experience, then you don't want to miss out on this guide!

Goodbye stress and self-doubt.. Hello great tech leadership

What made you a star engineer won’t make you a great leader!

"Last year I was promoted to Engineering Manager and I didn’t expect it to be that challenging and stressful. After working with Ahmed for a couple of months, he helped me understand my responsibilities more in my new role and by using his framework I could manage my work easier and with less stress. Not just that, I also became more effective in the process. Since then, multiple people have complimented me on how I was able to exponentially grow as a leader in a short amount of time. Ahmed’s coaching was the key factor to this success, and I definitely recommend other engineering managers to work with him too" - Mostafa Darehzereshki

Be the LEADER that you were meant to be!

Ready for a tech leadership breakthrough?

I’ve seen this pattern play out too many times..

After a successful engineering career as an individual contributor, you get your first shot at tech leadership. You are excited about the opportunity to multiply your impact.

But the job starts off stressful and overwhelming. You don’t know if you are doing a good job or are on the right track. You start doubting yourself, questioning if this was the right move and considering switching back to being an individual contributor.

You are jumping from one meeting to another. Working harder than you ever have. And doubting your decision to get into leadership in the first place. You got into it to have a bigger impact, but instead it has only impacted you negatively.

It doesn’t have to be that way. Introducing the Thriving EM. I help new tech managers become great leaders. I will show you how to relieve all that stress and become the successful leader you were meant to be!

Let's be honest.

There's a lot of programs out there and frankly, I'm tired of the misguidance.

By now, you are probably asking "Who are you? And what do you know about being a great leader?"
That's a fair question, here is a bit more about me and my background..

My name is Ahmed Wasfy. I started my career as a software engineer over a decade ago. I got my first taste of leadership back at Microsoft, where I was a lead on the Office team. I was excited about the opportunity to amplify my impact further by getting into a leadership role.

Not long after that, I joined Amazon as an engineering manager at AWS. And, after doing that for a few years, I decided to move to Google to get a taste of engineering leadership there. I am still at Google today.

Throughout this journey, I dealt with my fair share of ups and downs. I know what it feels like to feel overwhelmed and stressed on the job. I felt like an impostor at times, and still do!

I wasn’t sure how to tell if I am doing a good job as a manager. I was my toughest critic, trying to continue to push the overachiever in me. And I felt lost.

It wasn’t like my IC days, where the feedback loops were immediate. I could usually tell if I was doing a good job, if I was on the right path. This was more complex, with so many variables and moving pieces.

I was fortunate enough to have the access to great coaches and mentors that helped me along the way. Little by little, I was able to find my bearings.

I started putting together everything I have learned into a structured framework to help other managers navigate this maze. To get rid of all these doubts floating around your mind.

With this structure, I believe you too can be a great leader. I’ll show you the key mindsets, the strategies, the actionable tactics and frameworks to help you thrive as an engineering leader.

We'll break things down into 3 main pillars:

Managing Yourself

It all starts with you! You need to put on your oxygen mask first, before you can effectively show up for your team and your business. We'll go over establishing systems to help you manage your focus, time and work more effectively. We'll optimize how you manage your emails, your calendar and your to-dos.

Managing Your People

We'll go over the key principles to help you effectively manage people, including: holding effective 1 on 1's, earning trust with individuals, how to have effective career growth conversations, becoming a better coach/mentor and how to implement effective feedback loops to ensure team morale and growth progress

Managing Your Projects

The final pillar will focus on project management. Now that you have good systems in place for how you manage yourself and your people, it is time to tackle projects. We'll go over how to create and run an efficient team that can predictably and consistently deliver results for your business.
"Connecting with Ahmed came at a timely moment when the scope of my role expanded to support additional engineers, and help drive OKRs across a larger portion of our platform. Our sessions began with an assessment of my daily rituals, how I manage myself, projects, and other individuals. This allowed Ahmed to identify my strengths and the areas where I could most benefit from coaching. In my experience, the more senior you become the harder it becomes to find regular sources of constructive feedback. Working with Ahmed helped me to build better feedback loops into my weekly and monthly routines. He also introduced me to some new tools and practices that have been fun to use and share with my colleagues. Newer and experienced managers can benefit from Ahmed's pragmatic approach to leadership and work organization" - Charles Garrett
