Let's be honest.
There's a lot of programs out there and frankly, I'm tired of the misguidance.
By now, you are probably asking "Who are you? And what do you know about being a great leader?"
That's a fair question, here is a bit more about me and my background..
My name is Ahmed Wasfy. I started my career as a software engineer over a decade ago. I got my first taste of leadership back at Microsoft, where I was a lead on the Office team. I was excited about the opportunity to amplify my impact further by getting into a leadership role.Â
Not long after that, I joined Amazon as an engineering manager at AWS. And, after doing that for a few years, I decided to move to Google to get a taste of engineering leadership there. I am still at Google today.
Throughout this journey, I dealt with my fair share of ups and downs. I know what it feels like to feel overwhelmed and stressed on the job. I felt like an impostor at times, and still do!Â
I wasn’t sure how to tell if I am doing a good job as a manager. I was my toughest critic, trying to continue to push the overachiever in me. And I felt lost.
It wasn’t like my IC days, where the feedback loops were immediate. I could usually tell if I was doing a good job, if I was on the right path. This was more complex, with so many variables and moving pieces.Â
I was fortunate enough to have the access to great coaches and mentors that helped me along the way. Little by little, I was able to find my bearings.
I started putting together everything I have learned into a structured framework to help other managers navigate this maze. To get rid of all these doubts floating around your mind.Â
With this structure, I believe you too can be a great leader. I’ll show you the key mindsets, the strategies, the actionable tactics and frameworks to help you thrive as an engineering leader.
